Update Cycles The FAA MMELs are updated from time-to-time and new MMELs are posted at www.opspecs.com. The cycle is from 3-5 years for most GA aircraft and sometimes several times a year on newer aircraft. If the update is a numbered change, say from revision 3 to revision 4, then you must update the MEL. If it is a lettered changed, say from revision 3a to 3b, then you only have to update your MEL if the changes affect your specific MEL.
